Wakefield was led to victory by Cael Johnson and Jacob Birkley. Johnson dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Birkley went 8 of 13 on his way to 23 points and three steals. Those 23 points gave Birkley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Borg, who posted seven points in addition to six boards and five assists.
The win snapped Wakefield's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-7 record. As for Wisner-Pilger, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9.
Wakefield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 53-51 victory against Bancroft-Rosalie on the 16th. Wisner-Pilger has also already played their next contest, a 61-23 loss against Humphrey-Lindsay on the 14th.
