The North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers lost against the South Walton Seahawks back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. North Bay Haven Academy suffered a rough 50-26 loss at the hands of South Walton. North Bay Haven Academy has struggled against South Walton recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why North Bay Haven Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lakota Johnson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 22 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 191 yards and a touchdown. Willie Holley made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Even if they lost, North Bay Haven Academy's defensive line still kept up the pressure with seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by KALIB Williams and Aubry Campbell who racked up four sacks between them.
South Walton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Hawk, who threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per attempt, and also punched in a rushing score. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Mcdowell, who gained 85 total yards and three touchdowns.
North Bay Haven Academy's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5. As for South Walton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
North Bay Haven Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Arnold at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arnold comes in on a streak of failing to score more than nine points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for South Walton, they will head out on the road to face off against Marianna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Marianna is ranked 236th, while South Walton is ranked 250th).
