Glenn is 3-0 against Winston-Salem Prep since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Glenn Bobcats will be home for the holidays to greet the Winston-Salem Prep Phoenix at 3:45 p.m. Hopefully Glenn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
Glenn's recent rough patch got a bit rougher after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 63-40 defeat at the hands of Reagan. While losing is never fun, Glenn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while Reagan is ranked 49th).
Despite the loss, Glenn got a solid performance out of Chancellor Royal-Owens, who scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Noni Jones, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.
Winston-Salem Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 36 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Bethany 67-31 on the road. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Winston-Salem Prep.
Glenn has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Winston-Salem Prep, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Everything came up roses for Glenn against Winston-Salem Prep in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 82-33 victory. With Glenn ahead 45-20 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
