It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Noxubee County Tigers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Jefferson Davis County by a score of 29-22. The win was familiar territory for Noxubee County who now have six in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Noxubee County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kamario Taylor, who threw for 262 yards and four touchdowns. Dequadrion Welch was another key contributor, picking up 146 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Noxubee County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Jefferson Davis County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
Noxubee County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Jefferson County at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Jefferson County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Noxubee County is ranked 26th). Jefferson Davis County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
