Princeton is 1-9 against Mason since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to square off against the Comets at 5:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Princeton and Oak Hills have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Vikings lost 9-2 to the Highlanders. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered since April 28, 2025.
Princeton got a good showing from Moriah Miller, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Miller has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Colson Wolf made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Blake Dayton, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, Mason came up short against Archbishop Moeller on Saturday and fell 7-2.
Sam Davies was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Mason's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Princeton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Mason's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Princeton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. It's a different story for Mason, though, as they've only averaged .352. Will they be able to contain Princeton's hitters?
Princeton suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Mason in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
