Tellico Plains hadn't done well against Greenback recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Tellico Plains walked away with a 5-0 victory over Greenback. While the Bears didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Tellico Plains saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Broad, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Ike Hollinghead also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Tellico Plains and bumps their season record up to 6-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Greenback, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2.

Coincidentally, Tellico Plains and Greenback will both be playing Central Magnet the next time they take the field. Tellico Plains will head out to face Central Magnet at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Greenback will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
