Lafayette Jefferson hasn't had much luck against Harrison recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bronchos will be playing in front of their home fans against the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Lafayette Jefferson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Lafayette Jefferson is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Andrean on Wednesday. They lost 13-2 to the Fighting 59ers.
Lafayette Jefferson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Pechin, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Harrison, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past McCutcheon 12-2 on Wednesday.
Lyrik Neal tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kendrick Pena, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Harrison's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Braylen Hands was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Harrison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.
Harrison's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Lafayette Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lafayette Jefferson has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Harrison struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
