The Seventy-First Falcons came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 75-28 victory over Purnell Swett. That 47 points margin sets a new team best for Seventy-First this season.
Mylon Campbell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. DeAndre Nance was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Seventy-First pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Purnell Swett, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seventy-First on the road again on Friday and play against Lumberton at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Lumberton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Seventy-First is ranked 72nd). As for Purnell Swett, they will head out on the road to take on Jack Britt at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jack Britt has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
