Adams Central has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Aurora Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Adams Central was fully in charge, breezing past Fairbury 41-6 on the road. With Adams Central ahead 33-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Adams Central can attribute much of their success to Jackson Sughroue, who rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 144 yards and a touchdown while completing 84.6% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Conant, who rushed for 35 yards and two touchdowns.
Aurora fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They strolled past Central City with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 41-27.
Maddex Egger went supernova for Aurora, rushing for 297 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Egger was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 52 yards. Another player making a difference was Julian Hernandez, who picked up 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Adams Central's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Aurora, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Adams Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Aurora in their previous meeting on October 6th, sneaking past 21-19. Will Adams Central repeat their success, or does Aurora have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
