The Green Sea Floyds Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 48-23 loss at the hands of Lake View. Green Sea Floyds was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-11.
Despite the loss, Green Sea Floyds saw an underclassman step up: Janyrah Mccleod scored six points along with five rebounds and three steals. Shantavia Hilliard was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Leading Lake View to victory were Jaleya Ford and Gwendasia Page. Ford scored 17 points along with four steals, while Page dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ford has scored at least a third of Lake View's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zy'Kiara Waters, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Green Sea Floyds has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Lake View, their win was their 15th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Hannah-Pamplico the next time they take the court. Green Sea Floyds will head out to face Hannah-Pamplico at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, while Lake View will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on January 23rd.
