The North Lincoln Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Statesville Greyhounds at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully North Lincoln focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Tuesday.
North Lincoln managed to keep up with East Lincoln until halftime, but things quickly went downhill from there. North Lincoln's tough 88-68 defeat to East Lincoln might stick with them for a while. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ashlyn Black, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Hailey Hagler, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Statesville scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat West Iredell 52-12 at home. The win was some much needed relief for Statesville as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
North Lincoln has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season. As for Statesville, their victory bumped their record up to 2-14.
Everything came up roses for North Lincoln against Statesville in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 56-8 victory. With North Lincoln ahead 44-1 at the half, the match was all but over already.
