The Rosemont Wolverine will head out on the road to face off against the Bradshaw Christian The Pride at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games.
Last Friday, Rosemont didn't have too much trouble with El Dorado on the road as they won 30-13.
Michael Cherry was on fire: he rushed for 219 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Juelean Headspeth and his 98 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Rosemont's win.
Meanwhile, Bradshaw Christian can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They breezed by Galt on the road to the tune of 70-14. The win was nothing new for Bradshaw Christian as they're now sitting on five straight.
Bradshaw Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mateo Mojica out in front who rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Mojica was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 69 yards. Nathan Zeppieri did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 87 receiving yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Galt to a paltry 103 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Bradshaw Christian's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out six times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Devyn Mcdonald and D.D. Tornatore who racked up five sacks between them.
Their wins bumped Rosemont to 5-4 and Bradshaw Christian to 7-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Rosemont has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 264.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Bradshaw Christian struggles in that department as they've been even better at 296 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Rosemont suffered a grim 55-33 defeat to Bradshaw Christian in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can Rosemont avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
