Ponchatoula is 9-1 against Mandeville since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Ponchatoula Green Wave will look to defend their home court against the Mandeville Skippers at 7:00 p.m. Ponchatoula will be looking to keep their 12-game home win streak alive.
Last Tuesday, Ponchatoula didn't have too much trouble with Northshore on the road as they won 58-42. Given Ponchatoula's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Northshore is ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mandeville suffered their biggest loss since December 4, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 69-44 walloping at the hands of Slidell. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Mandeville has suffered against Slidell since January 11, 2019.
Ponchatoula's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Mandeville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-10.
Everything went Ponchatoula's way against Mandeville in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as Ponchatoula made off with a 56-33 win. Will Ponchatoula repeat their success, or does Mandeville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
