Baseball Recap: White Cloud Comes Up Short

After flying high against Montabella on Friday, White Cloud came back down to earth. The Indians fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 10-9 on Friday. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 9-3.

Brady Strait put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over four innings pitched. Strait was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for White Cloud: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-14 otherwise.

In other batting news, Jayden Graves made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of White Cloud's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 5-2 (and 3-14 when he doesn't).

White Cloud's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for Montabella, with the victory, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-11.

Looking ahead, White Cloud will challenge Morley Stanwood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Montabella, they will be playing at home against Fulton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
