The Midlothian Panthers won the last time they faced the Centennial Spartans, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Midlothian walked away with a 59-47 win over Centennial. Given Midlothian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while Centennial is ranked 537th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Midlothian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tevaughn Moore, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. It was the first time this season that Moore scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Almodovar, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Midlothian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season. As for Centennial, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-19.
Midlothian will head out on the road to square off against Midlothian Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Midlothian is coming into the matchup with three straight victories on the road, meaning Midlothian Heritage will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Centennial, they will be playing at home against Burleson at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
