Barrington is 2-7 against Westerly since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Eagles will head out to challenge the Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. One thing working in Barrington's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
Barrington made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mt. Hope, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 18-1 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won four contests by 12 runs or more so far this season.
Kendall Fisher (2025) made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aislinn McCoy (2025), who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Ariana Renzi (2025) was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
Barrington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .719. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Hope only posted an OBP of .308.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Westerly and West Warwick, and Westerly kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs came out on top against the Wizards by a score of 7-2 on Friday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Wizards recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Rhiannon Doyle tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Bella Mazzarese was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Poole, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
The win got Westerly back to even at 2-2. As for Barrington, their record now sits at 4-1.
Barrington suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Westerly when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
