The New Prairie Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Lewis Cass by a score of 42-39.
New Prairie's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colton Griffiths, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devan Kalicki, who scored ten points.
It was another big night for L.j. Hillis, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds for Lewis Cass. Bryce Rudd was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
New Prairie's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Lewis Cass, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
New Prairie and Knox will round out the year against one another at 6:15 p.m. on Friday at. Lewis Cass will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Plymouth at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Plymouth is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.5 points per game.
