Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Golden View Classical Academy

A well-balanced attack led Golden View Classical Academy over Belleview Christian in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Everything went the Golden View Classical Academy Sentinels' way against the Belleview Christian Bruins as the Golden View Classical Academy Sentinels made off with a 49-25 victory. With the Sentinels ahead 30-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Golden View Classical Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gianna Acocella, who went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and five rebounds. Those 20 points gave Acocella a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Le, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 12 points and three steals.

Belleview Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faith Rosiere, who posted four points and 21 rebounds. Rosiere is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tara Polson, who had seven points in addition to 12 rebounds and four steals.

The victory (which was Golden View Classical Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 3-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.0 points per game. As for Belleview Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Golden View Classical Academy will host Front Range Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Belleview Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Flatirons Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
