This season hasn't been kind to the Hope Academy Trojan Tigers, who are still winless after their fourth game. They were dealt a 52-24 defeat at the hands of Altamonte Christian on Friday. While losing is never fun, Hope Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 520th, while Altamonte Christian is ranked 108th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Altamonte Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayleigh Cooper, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 10 assists, and 11 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Hill, who scored 8 points along with 18 rebounds and 4 steals.
Hope Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Altamonte Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hope Academy will take on Four Corners at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Altamonte Christian, they will be playing at home against Liberty Christian Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Christian Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
