The Admiral Farragut BlueJackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by Winthrop College Prep Academy 84-5. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Admiral Farragut has scored all season.
Winthrop College Prep Academy was led to victory by Zamyria King and JoLesa Birkhead. King dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten steals, while Birkhead scored 42 points along with six steals and five assists. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Birkhead has scored at least 25% of Winthrop College Prep Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sanaii Holloway, who scored five points.
Admiral Farragut's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Admiral Farragut will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lakeside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Winthrop College Prep Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Varsity Opponent at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
