There's no place like home for The East Jessamine Jaguars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 41-27 win over Lafayette on Friday.
East Jessamine was led to victory by Derek Morton and Dontae Morton. Morton rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while Morton rushed for 133 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.
When it comes to explaining why Lafayette lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ransom Payton. Despite the final result, he threw for 115 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes.
East Jessamine's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Lafayette, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Jessamine will challenge Southwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwestern presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than East Jessamine in Kentucky (Southwestern is ranked 25th, while East Jessamine is ranked 158th). As for Lafayette, they will head out on the road to face off against Bryan Station at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Bryan Station and Lafayette are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
