Basketball Recap: Brunswick Piles Up the Points Against Orange Park

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Paulding, Brunswick was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Orange Park Raiders 72-43. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Martin Davis was her usual excellent self, putting up 14 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. Davis is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lauryn Walker, who posted ten points.

Brunswick smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Brunswick has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.6 points. As for Orange Park, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brunswick will take on Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Orange Park, they will face off against Fleming Island at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
