After flying high against the Premont Cowboys last Friday, the Ben Bolt Badgers came back down to earth. Ben Bolt received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 44-30 to Freer. It was the first time this season that Ben Bolt let down their fans at home.
Freer found their leader in underclassman Ayden Ramirez, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ramirez has scored at least a third of Freer's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Flores, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Ben Bolt's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-8. As for Freer, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-18 record this season.
Ben Bolt will be playing at home against Agua Dulce at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Agua Dulce will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Ben Bolt surely won't give up without a fight. As for Freer, they will head out on the road to face off against Premont at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Freer is facing Premont at the right time seeing as Premont is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
