The Harris County Tigers pushed their score all the way to 71 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Central by a score of 73-71. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Tuesday (56), Harris County still had to take the loss.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cameron Phillips, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Shay Broome was another key contributor, almost dropping a triple-double on 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists.
Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Demarcus White, who scored 22 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which White has scored at least 25% of Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Seldon, who scored 16 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Harris County and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Central, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harris County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Carver at 7:30 p.m. on December 6th. As for Central, they will square off against Marion County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
