Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Chelsea's 11th in Last 14 Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Orange Beach, Chelsea was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Alexandria Valley Cubs by a score of 9-6. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Valley Cubs back in March, they had to take a 8-3 loss.

Chelsea got a massive performance out of Katie Hopson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Scott, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Chelsea was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alexandria only posted a batting average of .286.

Chelsea has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-11-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Alexandria, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 26-8-2.

Chelsea wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-5 defeat against Helena on the 15th. As for Alexandria, they have also already played their next contest, a 4-1 victory against Auburn on the 12th.
