The East Rowan Mustangs pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 72-59 to Robinson. While losing is never fun, East Rowan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 75th).
Robinson found their leader in underclassman Camri Hobbs, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Hobbs has scored at least a third of Robinson's points. Li'Ara Batts was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
East Rowan now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Robinson, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Rowan will take on the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Robinson, they will head out on the road to challenge the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest Cabarrus will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
