The Verdigris Cardinals won the last time they faced the Miami Wardogs, and things went their way on Friday too. Verdigris came out on top against Miami by a score of 61-52. The win made it back-to-back wins for Verdigris.
Verdigris got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maddox Mason out in front who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Mason has scored at least 25% of Verdigris' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Coy Lemons, who scored 16 points.
Verdigris' win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Miami, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Verdigris is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Holland Hall at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. As for Miami, they will challenge Seneca at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Seneca and Miami are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
