Football Recap: Grandview Falls Short Against Ranked Arapahoe + How To Watch

Grandview faced Arapahoe in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wolves fell 21-17 to the Warriors. The Wolves were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Grandview still got an impressive performance from Chris Blanks, who rushed for 141 yards and one touchdown. With that strong performance, Blanks is now averaging an impressive 101.7 rushing yards per game.

Even if they lost, Grandview's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Brody Flores was especially locked on to Arapahoe's QB and sacked him three times. Flores is crushing it when it comes to sacks: he's posted at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Arapahoe's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Theo Lee, who threw for 110 yards and a pair of TDs. What's more, Lee racked up 118.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Marcello Jaramillo, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Grandview's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Arapahoe, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grandview will challenge Smoky Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves will be up against the Buffaloes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.83 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Arapahoe, they will square off against Cherry Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Bruins have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
