The Suwannee Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Madison County on the road and fell 65-36. While losing is never fun, Suwannee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while Madison County is ranked 131st).
Janiyah Mcknight was her usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with five rebounds and five steals for Madison County. That makes it three consecutive games in which Mcknight has scored at least a third of Madison County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaidyn Wesley, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Suwannee has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Madison County, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 18-4.
Suwannee will be playing at home against North Marion at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Suwannee is facing North Marion at the right time seeing as North Marion is stuck on a 18-game losing streak. As for Madison County, they will take on Hamilton County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Madison County is coming into the game with three straight wins on the road, meaning Hamilton County will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
