Middleton is a perfect 4-0 against Meridian since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Vikings will host the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Middleton has nine straight victories, Meridian has 17 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Middleton's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Kuna 12-0. Considering the Vikings have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Middleton got a massive performance out of Jeremiah Keithley, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Lenius, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Middleton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kuna only posted an OBP of .357.
Meanwhile, Meridian suffered their closest defeat since April 26, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Kuna by a score of 4-2.
Meridian saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Marquardt, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one double.
Middleton's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-19.
Meridian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Middleton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. It's a different story for Meridian, though, as they've only averaged .308. Will they be able to contain Middleton's hitters?
Everything went Middleton's way against Meridian in their previous meeting back in March, as Middleton made off with an 11-0 win. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
