The Eastern Alamance Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Page Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastern Alamance's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Page's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Eastern Alamance made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Southeast Alamance, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Eastern Alamance blew past Southeast Alamance 14-4 on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Kasen Mcginnis made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only one hit. He has become a key player for Eastern Alamance: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 2-3 otherwise. Mcginnis was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Zack Merchel looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Eastern Alamance's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
Back at the plate, Jarrett Newell was incredible, scoring four runs while going 4-for-4. He also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season. Tyler Westbrooks was another key player, scoring five runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Eastern Alamance was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .457. The last time their batting average was this high was since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Page was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Northwest Guilford, falling 14-2.
Page saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Grieco, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
The win got Eastern Alamance back to even at 4-4. As for Page, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
