It was a good run, but the Bethany Christian Bruins unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Illiana Christian by a score of 54-52.
Despite the loss, Bethany Christian still got an impressive performance from Tyson Chupp, who scored 29 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Chupp scored a full 55.8% of Bethany Christian's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Miller, who scored 12 points.
Bethany Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Illiana Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Bethany Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against Argos at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Argos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Wednesday. Illiana Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Whiting at 7:00 p.m. on January 2nd. Whiting comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
