Braylon Mullins was his usual excellent self, going 9-for-12 to rack up 24 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. Those six assists gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Johnson, who shot 54% from the field on his way to 18 points and four steals.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Greenfield-Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 21 assists in four consecutive contests.
Centerville typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Pendleton Heights proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Bulldogs 62-48. The score was all tied up 29-29 at the break, but the Arabians were the better team in the second half.
Greenfield-Central better keep an eye on Cooper Sims. He was instrumental in Pendleton Heights' win, going 12-for-16 en route to 30 points and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Sims has scored at least a third of Pendleton Heights' points. Evan Mozingo was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.
Pendleton Heights' record is now 9-14. As for Greenfield-Central, they pushed their record up to 21-3 with the win, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Tuesday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Greenfield-Central has been dynamite from deep this season, having drained 45.8% of their threes per game. However, it's not like Pendleton Heights struggles in that department as they've made 36.9% of their three-pointers this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Greenfield-Central against Pendleton Heights when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 73-40 victory. In that game, Greenfield-Central amassed a halftime lead of 49-22, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
