With a playoff win on the line, Schuylkill Haven rose to the challenge on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Northern Lehigh Bulldogs 60-7. The victory was just business as usual for the Hurricanes, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
Colton Reber was his usual excellent self, rushing for 395 yards and five TDs on only ten carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Another rusher making a difference was Niko Castillo, who gained 102 total yards and two touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Schuylkill Haven was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 543 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Schuylkill Haven didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Blake Rossi.
Schuylkill Haven's record is now 12-0. As for Northern Lehigh, they moved to 8-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
Looking ahead, Schuylkill Haven will square off against Williams Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Hurricanes 12.9, the Vikings 14) so any points scored will be well earned. Northern Lehigh does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
