The Elmore County Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 54-34 defeat at the hands of Chilton County. Elmore County has not had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Chilton County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Justin Godwin, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Caffey, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Elmore County dropped their record down to 2-16 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Chilton County, their victory bumped their record up to 14-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elmore County is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alabama (Holtville is ranked 440th, while the Panthers are ranked 424th). As for Chilton County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st. Prattville has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
