The Cairo Pilots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Benton on the road and fell 67-36. Cairo lost against Benton in their previous head to head back in January of 2015, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 64-32 score last time.
Cairo's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aaliyah Wilkerson, who scored 11 points. Trinty Posey was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Cairo's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Benton, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Cairo is on the road again on Saturday and play against Carbondale at 12:00 p.m. on November 25th. Carbondale is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Benton, they will head out on the road to face off against DuQuoin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
