Georgetown is 2-8 against the Lions since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The Georgetown Bulldogs will head out on the road to  square off against  the Loris Lions at 12:00  p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication,  the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
 Last Tuesday, Georgetown didn't have too much trouble with the Monarchs at home   as they won  58-44. The  win made it back-to-back wins for Georgetown.
  Ty Stanley went supernova for Georgetown,  scoring 23 points along with seven  blocks and five  rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Stanley has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kavonte Matthews, who  scored ten points.
 Meanwhile, Loris waltzed into their contest  on Tuesday with nine straight wins  but they left with ten. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past Waccamaw  61-58. Given Loris' advantage  in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings  (they are ranked 76th, while the Warriors are ranked 206th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Georgetown has  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matchups,  which provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season. As for Loris, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with that  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road.
 Georgetown was taken down by the Lions 80-51 in their previous matchup  back in January. The  contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Georgetown was down  45-25.
