North Duplin waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-45 W against the Hobbton Wildcats. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 71-60 victory last Thursday.
Branson Martin was the offensive standout of the matchup as he went 6-for-15 to rack up 13 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Duquan Stevens, who posted eight points and six rebounds.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dai'Vian Murrell, who scored 15 points. That's the most points Murrell has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Richard Simpson, who had 12 points.
