DeSoto County is a perfect 6-0 against Bayshore since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. DeSoto County will be playing at home against Bayshore at 1:00 p.m.

DeSoto County fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Clewiston on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-6.

Logan Adkins was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Bayshore made easy work of Gulf Coast H on Tuesday and carried off a 13-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Diego Villegas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run over five innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Bayshore is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 3-6 otherwise. Villegas was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Henrique Perdomo, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Bayshore: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jordan Greene, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Bayshore's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for DeSoto County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

DeSoto County took their win against Bayshore in their previous meeting back in May of 2022 by a conclusive 10-0. Does DeSoto County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bayshore turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
