The Mendon Hornets will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Howardsville Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Wednesday, Mendon earned a 60-47 victory over Burr Oak.
Mendon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Gorham, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gorham has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Quincy Blair, who scored 17 points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Howardsville Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 65-64 to Our Lady of the Lake Catholic. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (61), Howardsville Christian still had to take the loss.
Mendon's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Howardsville Christian, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2.
