Hamilton extended the longest winning streak in Mid-Valley this week by beating Colusa, 55-28. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Hamilton moved up to 728 from 786 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Ryan Bentz's team climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the RedHawks 55-28.
Matt Beeson and Cody McDonald gave Quincy a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Beeson threw for 151 yards and three touchdowns, while McDonald ran for 130 yards. Keston Pilgrim also contributed to the rushing game with 105 yards on the ground.
Andrew Shippelhoute was the best wideout in the league this week as the Braves defeated Colusa. Shippelhoute racked up four receptions for 124 yards. Tim Bekendam helped Hamilton's passing attack out by catching four balls for 77 yards.
Brad Hall provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Hamilton bested Paul Theriault's team. He completed nine passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 52 yards.
Trevor Goyet made the biggest impact on defense this week as East Nicolaus topped Esparto. The 6-foot-0 defensive back forced two fumbles and recorded one fumble.
The Braves' Hall and Shea Shull have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Mid-Valley in both passing and receiving yards. Hall has thrown for 1027 yards this season, while Shull, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 29 catches for 397 yards. The RedHawks' Andrew Rodriguez leads the league in rushing yards with 1184.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Hamilton takes on second place East Nicolaus. Last week, Hamilton beat Colusa, while the Spartans topped the Spartans.
