Metro - Pacific Top Player Performances of the Week
Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!
Benjamin Moya Delivers Best Performance of Season
On Friday, Mar Vista got the W thanks in part to Benjamin Moya playing the best football he has all season. Moya rushed for 32 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 65 receiving yards and a touchdown. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in August.
Moya and Mar Vista will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Southwest SD at 6:30 p.m. The Mariners got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Raiders, probably because Moya had a solid game then too: he rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 123 yards on nine of 15 attempts. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Peter Thomas Dazzles in Mar Vista Win
Mar Vista's six-game losing streak is now nothing but a memory thanks in part to Peter Thomas. Nobody could stop Thomas on Friday as he rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 130 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Those 74 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
For the season, Thomas has thrown 10 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 117.4 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 32 passing yards per game.

A Season-Best Performance from Dario Garcia Leads San Ysidro over Mar Vista
San Ysidro came up short on Friday despite Dario Garcia delivering his best game to date. Garcia rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 80 yards.
Garcia must have Mar Vista's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Garcia rushed for 214 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.9 yards per carry the last time he and the Mariners duked it out back in October of 2023.

Southwest SD's Losing Streak Is No More Thanks to Conner Davis
Thanks in part to Conner Davis, Southwest SD said goodbye to their three-game losing streak. Castle Park had no answer to Davis on Friday as he made four total tackles and defended a pass. Davis also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception.
Southwest SD pushed their record up to 4-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Davis and Southwest SD will host Mar Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
