Baseball Recap: Fort Zumwalt West Has No Trouble Against Marquette

Fort Zumwalt West barely beat Marquette the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jaguars were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Mustangs on Saturday. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by six runs or more this season.

Fort Zumwalt West has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Marquette, they moved to 18-13 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Fort Zumwalt West is taking a road trip to take on St. Dominic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crusaders have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Marquette, they will welcome Parkway North at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
