The Fortune Early College Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the San Leandro Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Fortune Early College's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
Fortune Early College pushed their score all the way to 59 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a serious blow against Moreau Catholic, falling 90-59. While losing is never fun, Fortune Early College can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 511th, while Moreau Catholic is ranked 180th).
Despite their loss, Fortune Early College saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Corey Lark, who scored 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Omarion Davis, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, San Leandro's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 13th straight loss. They were dealt a 81-45 defeat at the hands of Bishop O'Dowd. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat San Leandro has suffered yet this season.
Fortune Early College now has a losing record at 10-11. As for San Leandro, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-14.
