Courtney Jessie made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Middlesex got a massive performance out of Carly Jessie, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave Jessie a new career-high. Kyla Blazek was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Middlesex now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Mathews, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
