The Lakeside School Chiefs will head out on the road to take on the Abbeville Christian Academy Generals at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
On Friday, Lakeside School was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Chambers Academy. Lakeside School has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by Chloe Helms, who scored 25 points. That was a full 50% of Lakeside School's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Sophie Seaborn was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Abbeville Christian Academy can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They secured a 49-45 W over Ezekiel Academy. The win was all the more spectacular given Abbeville Christian Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while Ezekiel Academy is ranked 101st).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Abbeville Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anna grace Blalock, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. Blalock has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari George, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Lakeside School's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Abbeville Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Everything went Lakeside School's way against Abbeville Christian Academy in their previous meeting on Tuesday as Lakeside School made off with a 51-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeside School since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
