The Sabinal Yellowjackets won the last time they faced the D'Hanis Cowboys, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Sabinal sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 56-53 win over D'Hanis.
Joseph Contreras was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. The match was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Andres Reyes, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Sabinal's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for D'Hanis, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-7.
Sabinal will finish 2023 at home by hosting Brackett at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Brackett is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for D'Hanis, they will challenge Utopia at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
