Pleasant Valley is a perfect 10-0 against Chico since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Vikings will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 8:00 p.m. Pleasant Valley will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Pleasant Valley earned a 7-2 victory over Shasta.
The team relied heavily on Sofia Bowersox, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Lily Thurman was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Pleasant Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chico, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They never let Red Bluff get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.
Leah Cawthon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Cawthon wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Addi Hosier, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple.
Pleasant Valley's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Chico, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
Pleasant Valley beat Chico 6-3 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
