After three games on the road, Wellington is heading back home. They will take on the Columbia Raiders at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, Wellington didn't have too much trouble with Oberlin on the road as they won 50-35. Given Wellington's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while Oberlin is ranked 749th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brooke Lehmkuhl continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Taylor Morris, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Columbia can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Black River 71-30 at home. The win was nothing new for Columbia as they're now sitting on four straight.
Wellington's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Columbia, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
