Mars Hill Bible gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They strolled past the Madison Academy Mustangs with points to spare, taking the game 44-26. The victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on six straight dating back to last season.
Mars Hill Bible's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Griffin Campbell, who rushed for 134 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Another rusher making a difference was Hudson Higgins, who gained 162 total yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mars Hill Bible was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 254 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison Academy only rushed for 94 rushing yards.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mars Hill Bible will face off against Russellville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Madison Academy, they will challenge Randolph School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Mustangs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
